I love a parade

The third week of July means it's time for the Kanabec county fair. I don't miss the parade ifI can help it. Ryan and Erinn took up the lawn chairs early so we had a good spot to watch the parade.Brooklyn started the parade with her fingers in her ears as the fire trucks went by with their sirens blaring. It took her a little while but soon the fingers came out and she was collecting candy with Hannah.they took in quite a haul.Hannah collected about a box of ice freezes. The hydraulic car that went up on three wheels starting dumping the ice freezes out and they didn't move so there were at least a dozen. Score. We got to see a lot of familiar faces as the floats and groups went by. The only bad part was that there were too many politicians. Can't wait until November and that can be done. After the parade we went down to the fair. We checked out the animal barns.Dale always enjoys looking at the goats.Maybe one day he will get to see his dream come true and have goats to milk and make cheese. We made our way down the lane with all the exhibits. It brought back memories of when Dad would call for the American Legion Bingo hall. "Bingo, Bango, Bongo, who wants to play Bingo." That phase always comes to mind when I think of bingo. Then we got in the long line for cheese curds, mini donuts and corn dogs. Yummy. We saw many people that we haven't seen for a while. Always a good time.

A great day for a birthday

What a fabulous day for our daughters birthday. Scott made a yummy lunch of Chipotle style burritos followed by Dairy Queen cake. The second cousins had fun on the jump-o lean. Of course Grandma had to "send Bella to the moon" and her saying "higher Grandma, higher" what fun. What blessings we have been given through our kids and grand kids.Happy birthday Angie, we love you.

The Four Month Campout

Well Carol and I after 27 years have sold our home in Mora . We have taken a radical change in life's direction and decided to make a move to Arizona. Our son Ryan and his wife Erinn have made us a generous offer to allow us to park our motor home in their yard in Mora. Our stay will last about 4 months before we take off in October. We are very excited about our move, this has been our desire for many years and now that our children are grown and on their own we have made the choice to cut the ties from our home town and venture out . We decided to create this blog so that our friends and family can check in to see what we have been up too and how this big change in our lives has effected us.
